Young Minds 2027
Annual Theme
Inside & Out: Who Am I?
How can we use literacy and the arts to express how we feel and what we think?
What is the Young Minds Showcase all about?
The Young Minds Showcase is an opportunity for students in grades K-12 to publicly share their ideas in a public forum. Students may share their ideas in a modality of their choosing or as guided by their teacher (see list below). Participating teachers will have the ability to submit up to 10 students works that meet the criteria of the provided rubrics. All work will be reviewed to be considered to be displayed or presented at the 2027 Young Minds Showcase at the Buffalo Museum of Science.
Young Minds Showcase:
- A dynamic showcase for Kindergarten through 6th grade students to express themselves and share their ideas.
- An ideal platform for presenting Project-Based Learning (PBL) products.
- A meaningful opportunity to make student writing purposeful and engaging.
- An inclusive event where every student has the chance to shine.
- Recognition of outstanding work through awards in multiple categories, based on the Young Minds rubric.
What can students create and share with an audience?
Storytelling
Artwork
Poetry
Song Writing
Performance
The sky is the limit when it comes to products. However, it is important that each product aligns to the provided rubrics and include both a literacy and art component. Teachers will receive inspiration and guidance at the Young Minds Conference Day in January.
